Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is the biggest commercially successful Indian movie ever. It would soon be the first member to enter the elite 1500-crore club. Ever since the launch of its trailer, it has been breaking all the records and creating new ones every day. Some of them are unlikely to be broken any time soon, and it looks like Baahubali 3 could be the only contender. Let us have a look at those nine interesting records Baahubali 2 created.
Opening Day Collection
The previous highest opening day collection was set by Baahubali part 1 which was 50 crores. But Baahubali 2 shattered that and created the new record of a whopping 122 crores which is nearly 2.25 times the first one. Going by the past trend, it is safe to say that no other movie is going to come close to it anytime soon.
Fastest 500-Crore Club Member
Baahubali 2 is the only movie that managed to collect over 500 crores worldwide in the very first weekend. To be precise, it made 521 crores. For most of the other movies, it takes months to achieve that figure.
Biggest Hindi Movie Collection
Baahubali 2 is the only movie (Hindi version) that collected a record-breaking 165 crore in the first weekend. Even the Khans never managed to do that in spite of releasing their movies on special occasions. Some of them hardly manage to reach 100 crores if you see the past records.
Highest Number of Screens
The hype for Baahubali 2 was so much that it got the highest number of screens worldwide. While Dangal received 6000 screens, Baahubali 2 managed to get 9000 screens. Dangal is the second highest gross movie after Baahubali 2, and it is nearly 300 crores away.
Shattering State Records
It shattered the records held by Rajnikanth’s movie Kabali as the highest first-day collection in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam version. It earned over 50 crores on its opening day in Andhra Pradesh.
Advanced Booking Records
Baahubali 2 has created a massive advanced booking record breaking the previous record held by Salman Khan’s Sultan. It has collected over 36 crores of advanced booking over Sultan’s 21 crores.
It received over 1 million views in just one hour and took the world by storm. It beat the record set by Raees, and since then, everyone knew it was going to be the biggest blockbuster ever.
It has broken all the records by being the movie to have the highest occupancy rate. It is the average rate determined by how much percentage of seats in the cinema halls are occupied. On the 1st day, Baahubali 2 saw 95% of occupancy rate.
Highest Ticket Price
The hype for Baahubali 2 was so high that people were ready to spend whatever they got to watch the movie. It registered the highest ticket price ever, and some of them were sold at 2400 INR.
This is the most interesting record of them all. BookMyShow.com reported that Baahubali 2 tickets were sold at 12 tickets per second which are the highest rate they have ever seen.
The director S.S. Rajamouli was overwhelmed with the response Baahubali 2 received. Even though it was the conclusion part, he said that he would make Baahubali 3. Baahubali 3 could be the only movie to break all these records and set new ones.
