Almost every person have been enrolled in the cities but still many people in rural and hilly regions have not applied for it. The center mooted for a compulsory deadline which makes it mandatory to have a person its Aadhar number but Supreme Court has denied the plan because it does not want to bind every citizen to have it.

Aadhar Card is a 12 digit unique identification number introduced by UIDAI(Unique Identification Authority Of India). It establishes a uniqueness of every individual by demographic, biometrics- fingerprints and retina scans. Any individual irrespective of age or gender, who is a resident of India and satisfies the simple verification process laid down by UIDAI can get an Aadhar Card.
The enrollment is free of cost, and it can be applied for kids even as old as one year. It is very convenient in use as it can be verified online thus lowering the risk of fake id proofs. It can be linked with various government services like banking, insurance, mobile connections, Lpg connections. It can also be used to get a passport faster .i.e. in 7 days. The DigiLocker require the linking of Aadhar Card Number. With the increasing importance of Aadhar Card, it is necessary for everyone to get it issued. It is believed that the card will become more important in future as more and more government schemes are requiring it as a mandatory document.
Many people have shown major concern on the success of this project. All these details if lost to a hacker then there could be a massive Identity crisis. All the data has been saved to servers and our tech in not efficient to block every attack. In a cyber war, there are strong chances of misuse of this data hence urgent attention is required.
